SmartStop Self Storage - Oakville

This is the second time I have rented a storage locker from Smartstop at this location. The facility is bright and clean. The washroom is spotless. I received excellent customer service. I had a very specific short term need for a 10 x 15 locker. I was given a locker that faced the street on the fourth floor. The view was beautiful. The lighting was excellent. I was able to execute a project I was working on with ease. I would definitely rent here again. I have tried another facility, and this is far superior.

My husband and I went to this location to look for a unit to rent and were extremely pleased at how helpful and pleasant the lady there Michelle was. She showed us the unit we were thinking of and then asked multiple questions about our needs and our items to be stored. She suggested a smaller unit as we didn't need the one we were looking for saving us some money. Thank you so, so much Michelle for your time and attention.

Unfortunately i had a bad experience with this location. After more than a year of rental i was leaving the space, my last payment was only three days as i was leaving on the third of April, first i called to make sure that they accept a daily payment to find that they accept the daily payment, the third of April was a stormy and rainy day, i called them and ask if i can postpone 1 day and i will pay for it, they said that the manager will decide tomorrow, i was ready to pick up the next day but i called before i leave to make sure they will charge me only one day extra, the same operator told me that they will charge a month! i started to argue with him a little bit, the manager was hearing the call and suddenly she started to yell at me during my call with the operator telling me that she can not manipulate the system, and that she will charge me a month no matter what! They have a plenty of vacant storages, I don’t think that i caused a big traffic by leaving my stuff one day more. The place is excellent, but customer service may need some training to keep this place up

By far, the cleanest of any storage facility I’ve used. Eddy was super helpful getting everything set up. Lots of carts to help you move things. If you need extra space, this is a great choice.

This review is not for the company itself. It is for Mrs Michelle who works there in customer service. I went with my husband and baby Saturday at 3:45pm and since we entered through the door her face expression was disgusting and rude. My husband kindly explained that we are thinking on renting and today only would like to se the space of the small storage to have an idea. She just answered you need to come back tomorrow I am closing in 10 minutes in a very rude way. We explained that we would not rent with her today that we just want to see an example to have an idea of the space. She again very rudely said I will not show you anything I need to close everything in 10 minutes. We could not believe the situation and left, of course we will not rent there. Michelle works in customer service, she needs to learn basic human/customer manners. If the office is closing to the public at 4:00pm she should serve to the public until that time and start the closing process after 4:00pm. If this is not possible because of personal reasons than she could just explain the customer in a good kind way and most likely will be understood.
